A Peek at The Wedding – Part One

Etc | 8 comments

My beloved and I are getting hitched this summer! YAY! He’s the best and I’m super excited to marry him.

Of course I am also excited – but not as excited – to plan our wedding!

I of course wanted to have as much handmade goodness involved in our wedding as possible. If not handmade by me, then handmade by someone else! And thank goodness there are so many awesome people making awesome things and the internet makes it possible for me to obtain them.

My first order of business as bride to be was assembling a bridal party. This part was exciting because I knew exactly who to ask and also, of course, I knew there were lots of fun and unique options for inviting bridesmaids into the clique so to say. I knew as soon as I saw these that they had to be the ones I’d use!!

bridesmaid card

The inside can be personalized with each bridesmaid’s name. (or bridesguy, if you have one of those, like I do) These are even cuter in person and all of my bridesmaids love them. Lauren from Charm & Fig was super nice and easy to work with as well.

While beloved is likely going to make our thank you cards somehow-someway with his letterpress magic making machine, I did need to (and let’s be honest) want to get some other handmade thank you cards for the interim before those were made. I’ve been smitten with the fun and swoopy designs in Lily & Val for a while and I just had to have these chalkboard style thank you notes. Thank you to Valerie for making such pretty things!

My next purchase was another bridal party item. I bought each of my bridesmaids one of these fabulous necklaces from PoleStar. These are so so pretty in the photo and even prettier in person. The colors are varied and vibrant and I love their simple, understated beauty. These will look great with the girls’ dresses and I hope they will find lots of opportunities to wear it after the wedding. (This isn’t a spoiler for them because I showed them what I was buying already, so no worries. Also I don’t think they read my blog.)

As if all of this wasn’t cool enough, this necklace was worn by Tori Amos. One of Jen’s customers gifted it to her, how awesome is that?! Thank you, Jen!

Part two will cover a few more awesome handmade things for our wedding including our invites, RSVPs, other paper goodies and a few of the things I am making, so check back next week for that! Not to be annoying but there might be a part three….
