A Peek at The Wedding – Part Two

Etc | 1 comment

As my fiance and I are both creative, artist types, there were certain things I felt like we sort of had to DIY for our wedding. Fiance is a printmaker, and is quite skilled in letterpress which is a popular choice for wedding invites. Of course, it just made sense for him to make our invites and after a few trials we finally settled on this handmade set.

The border is hand cut linoleum and the text is hand set lead type, all printed, of course, by hand!

I am quite pleased with them.

The color looks a bit different front the invite to the RSVP because the RSVP is actually a postcard and the paper is a different weight and slightly different color…. just FYI

To complete our invites, I ordered a stamp from Jen at The Chatty Press which is fabulous and will come in handy for many things!

Another project I of course felt I needed to DIY is the table numbers. They will be embroidered… duh.

Here are a few of them… in no order.

I am also working on some other embroidered pieces including reserved seating ribbons to tie onto chairs, small signs and bouquet charms. My other non embroidered projects include favors and programs. It’s pretty fun actually. Our custom cake topper came in and I love it but I will save that for next time.
