Some of you may have seen the interview I did for April and Mayi’s Creative Business planning book – and I’m sure that if you did, you noticed that crazy picture of me. (This is the link to the actual interview)

Some people have asked me about what’s going on here and I figured this is a good opportunity to explain.
Sophomore year of college I spent one semester crocheting and knitting on glasses frames as part of a body of work based on the idea of self adornment and outward appearances and all that jazz. It was kinda sorta about ridiculous fashion and how people will do/wear anything that is trendy even if it isn’t their style and also a bit about how those looks and others change the way we feel about ourselves whilst wearing what we wear and how others interact with and perceive us because of those things as well.
Many of you know how hard it is to find models for wearables and I assure you finding models for these glasses was no exception and so I modeled them myself. (I did find some friends to help later on but of course I was gunna take some pictures of me with them anyway.)
And that, dear readers, is what’s up with that crazy picture of me wearing those crazy glasses.
And yes, the answer to your next question is, yes. Art school is a very free form, crazy place. I once made an igloo hat while on ichat with Meagan who was doing algebra. ;)
